...but India Pale Ale is possibly one of the finest substances to ever grace our fair planet. 

If you live someplace that carries Goose Island IPA, I cannot recommend it enough.  Second only to Harpoon IPA (oh, the sacrifices we make moving to the midwest!) for smoothness, body, and character.  The hops are strong, yo, but not so bad that you feel bitch-slapped with aftertaste overload after one sip.  Truly a fine beer.

While we're on the subject of endorements, the second season of my new favorite show of all time, the reissue (I won't say 'remake,' because it's not) of Battlestar Galactica premiered this evening.  They haven't lost their mojo...the second season opens as strongly as the first ended.  It's not just good sci-fi, it's damned good television, period. Even if you're not a sci-fi fan, it's worth a gander.  It's my personal new gold standard by which all other dramatic shows are judged.

New Battlestar Galactica and some Goose Island IPA...is there a finer way to start a weekend?  I think not!
